K-Tone Makes Waves In Miami’s Club Scene – IndiePulse Music Magazine

Hip hop artist K-Tone is Miami’s newest rising R&B and rap star. His hit singles “Big Smoke” and “How You Feel” became available on all platforms on August 1st, 2022, and were released to multiple FM radio stations in July 2022. He’s making a difference in the industry because of everything he brings to the table: K-tone is not just a musician. He’s also a successful local businessman involved across a wide variety of industries.

“Everything I’m involved in contributes to my network,” he says. “I meet people in all walks of life across my different business ventures. I never know how two parts of my world are going to connect.”

Under his “alter ego” Kellon Lewis (his real name), he runs a health insurance company that focuses on connecting clients with the Medicare help they need. Your Medicare helps people navigate the complex and often frustrating world of insurance to get the coverage they need and qualify for. “You might not think that health insurance and the music industry go hand in hand,” K-tone jokes. “But I have always worked to become a well-rounded individual who can do multiple different things.”

He is also a broker for luxury cars, yachts, and works in realty leasing and selling multi-million-dollar homes. “Miami has this rich culture,” he says. “And I do mean rich. In many ways. There are always clients wanting to project a certain image and one of the things I do is help them to accomplish that. If you can lease a Lamborghini and create epic memories on the hot streets of Miami, why not? I’m selling a dream and people are definitely buying.”

Among his many passions in life is music. His vibrant personality, intellect, education, and experience translates into a unique experience when it comes to his music. He is artistically creative. “My music speaks a universal language that activates endorphins,” he shares. “I’m here to make ‘em dance!”

He began his musical experimentation by gaining a solid reputation in Brooklyn, where he grew up. His first single was “Take You There”, featuring the Global Artist Group recording artist Ray Lavender, as well as acclaimed actor Lil Zane. Singer, songwriter, model, and actor Ray Lavender has toured with massive stars in the music industry, such as Akon, T-Pain, Lady Gaga, and more. Actor and musician Lil’ Zane has appeared in feature films alongside greats like Sean Connery (Finding Forrester) and Eddie Murphy (Dr. Doolittle 2), and is a true veteran of the music business.

“Take You There” launched K-tone into both local and national exposure. Since then, he has opened and closed for some of the hottest names in music, like Nicki Minaj, Busta Rhymes, Ron Browz, Rick Ross, Jadakiss, Maino, Sammie, J.R. Writer, Vado, Murda Mook, Lil Haiti, and more. He’s collaborated extensively with DJ Epps, the official DJ for Montel Williams and an integral part of Miami’s club scene and hip-hop circles. DJ Epps has worked all over the country with 50 Cent and other huge names and has promoted K-tone in clubs across Miami.

As both a businessman and artist, K-tone has an extreme diversity in talents, skills, and abilities that sets him apart. He has taken what he learned from the vets in the business and applied that experience to the newest and freshest sounds. Every track is an opportunity to learn and grow, he feels. His sound is constantly evolving as he stays on top of the latest trends but also pays homage to the classics.

Kellon was born in the Flatbush neighborhood of Brooklyn in NYC. Growing up, young Kellon spent most of his time in various recording studios with his father, who was also a songwriter. He was constantly around musicians, producers, and engineers, and developed his passion for music at an early age.

“My parents worked hard,” he says. “But it was tough at times. The high school I went to isn’t even open anymore. That’s how rough the area was. My parents always taught me to strive for a better life. They were immigrants from Grenada and always did right by us, but there were a lot of us. I have 3 brothers and 4 sisters! My parents wanted us to stay out of trouble, off the streets, and we all used music as a way to reach for our dreams.”

In the summer of 2018, K-tone booked a trip to Miami. Once he hit the Magic City, his life would change forever. “I never went back to the airport,” he recalls. “I just fell in love with this place. The culture, the weather, the nightlife, absolutely everything about Miami called out to me. I knew I was home.”

As an artist, K-tone has become known for his ability to cunningly deliver narratives within his music, rich with insight from his personal experiences and diversified with a rich and varied vocabulary. He is respected as a trendsetter among his peers, and has a talent for utilizing his influences but always applying his own unique sound to his tracks.

With his deep understanding of the industry and passion for music, K-tone is equipped with the necessary drive to reach superstardom. He has been featured in showcases locally and nationally and has committed himself to perpetuating a change in today’s youth culture. “I want to open their eyes,” he says of young people. “I deliver a positive message so they don’t end up going down the wrong path.”
