I have been making homemade ice cream for many decades. I have used rock salt and ice, liners you put in the freezer, and on and on. This does cost more but the convenience is so great and the results are so good that I make a lot more ice cream. I am known locally for my ice cream now and experiment with changing recipes all the time. I bought mine two and a half years ago and it finally stopped working. I contacted their support and they emailed me two documents that enabled me to open it up and fix it. Two batches already finished on the good-as-new machine. I love this ice cream maker.
